PVCAM

PVCAM is a sophisticated control interface for scientific cooled CCD cameras produced by Roper Scientific. V++ has been designed to make controlling any PVCAM-compatible camera as easy as possible. Both the Photometrics and Princeton Instruments ranges of cameras are supported.

Every camera feature can be efficiently and easily accessed from the V++ interface as well as from within VPascal, the built-in programming language. PVCAM is fully integrated into all aspects of V++ operation, allowing you to make the most of your camera and use every last one of its features.

V++ provides the definitive implementation of the PVCAM interface.

Whether you are a beginner or an imaging expert, any camera operation or setting is only a mouse click away. A number of unique features make controlling your hardware investment easy:

CameraBar The CameraBar - provides instant access to all of the most common camera features. Multiple cameras can be accommodated on one CameraBar, thus preserving the smallest possible on-screen footprint.
Multiple cameras Multiple cameras can be operated - access to each open camera is immediately available through tabs on all PVCAM dialogs and switching between cameras is very easy. You can even trigger and readout multiple cameras simultaneously.

Camera properties Camera properties are centralised onto one tabbed dialog. This makes it easier to switch between feature sets, as well as between cameras.
ROI management Region of interest (ROI) specification and management is very sophisticated with both preset and user-defined ROIs (which can even be named to simplify experimental procedures). ROIs are accessible from both the CameraBar and other camera dialogs.
Modeless dialogs The PVCAM dialog boxes are all modeless (i.e. they can be left on-screen when not in-use) for users who want to have many operations accessible at a moment's notice.
VPascal support The entire PVCAM interface definition is integrated into the VPascal automation language giving you total control over your camera's operation.
ICL scripting The Imager Control Language (ICL) is available for PVCAM cameras that support it. You can readily combine VPascal and ICL for the ultimate in fine control of your camera hardware.

V++ has long been the preferred imaging software for use with Photometrics PVCAM cameras. We are pleased to now be able to offer the same capabilities to users of Princeton Instruments cameras with the advent of PVCAM on those platforms. Please contact Roper Scientific for more information.
