The new Electra Plus CCD camera series mantains and improve the very good performances of the former Electra series, as the readout speed, the USB connection and much more. There are two versions of this line of cameras: 1) the EX standard version: it mounts CCD sensors up to KAF-1001E, mantaining the dimension of the former Electra 2) the EXH Huge version: with increased dimension and a more powerful cooling (consisting of 2 double stage Peltier cells) it allows to mount higher resolution sensors such as KAF-4301E and KAF-16801E/LE. Both the versions have a USB 2.0 High Speed* connection involving a higher readout speed, up to 1 Mpix/s @ 16 bit. Moreover, for the two versions we have: - added a 256 kbyte FIFO memory, allowing to avoid the interruption of the data-transfer during the CCD readout (caused by the USB 2 latency providing not constant performances) - improved the temperature control: from 0.1 to 0.05 °C Electra Plus is thought as a modular camera: you can fit your system to your requirements adding the 230/115 V Power Supply, the electromechanical shutter and the lens adapter. For
